Vintage GT Team Avalanche Frame Set 22” (Psyclone) Extremely Rare MTB.
Team Avalanche up for sale is an early 90’s GT frame in Imron Black. This GT Team Avalanche frame was the last produced by GT during the Steel era.  It was the top of the line steel frame bike and the only Team Avalanche that was US built.
Originally sold only as a complete bike with M900 XTR.  However this frame was offered for sale out of the back of the GT rep’s van to select shop employees. I was lucky enough to be working that day. The black color scheme makes this bike unique as the color was only on a limited number of frames. It was built in the GT factory that was located in Longmont Colorado. It is constructed of TIG pulse welded Ture Temper AVR chromoly tubing. This frame also features the GT groove tube which hides all the cables up under the top tube for clean routing. It is the same frame made by the same craftsman who made the famous GT Psyclone. The difference being the Psyclone was fillet braised and the Team Avalanche was TIG welded. That made the TA lighter in weight.
This frame measures 22” from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the top tube. Check out the 12 photos I've included of this great looking frame.  It has nicks and scratches but overall is in good condition for a steel frame coming up on its 30th birthday.  No cracks. If you are a vintage mountain bike enthusiast or just love the feel of a great steel frame this should be your next project.
