Description
This auction consists of vintage B&W photographs showing a Fire Prevention Parade in Dayton Ohio in 1949. THESE ARE NOT REPRODUCTIONS. These are old & original 4x5 photo's from a large collection that have been featured on a few web sites about vintage fire fighting apparatus and equipment.From the dates on the license plates this parade was held in 1949 and proceeded down Main St. in Dayton too the Montgomery County Fairgrounds where they held
fire fighting and life saving demonstrations. Though it was held in the evening hours, a
number of Dayton landmarks can be seen in the photo's including Memorial Hall, Lowes Theatre, the old Sears building and many more. Most of the Fire Departments from Montgomery County entered trucks or vehicles in the parade.

. 1st shot as it passes by the Old Court House on Main St. in Dayton (distinctive corner columns on each side of the steps can be seen in the background)
, other 4 shows the float, vehicles, trailers and boat. All read "Box 21". In the last photo you can see part of the large Dayton Power & Light sign at the left edge. Parts of this sign show up in other photos.
These photos are in Excellent Condition with some curling, minor creases and blemishes. See photo for details and conditions.
